Landlord insurance quotes for the property you rent out

Affordable Landlord Insurance helps owners of residential rentals request a landlord or dwelling policy quote — the building, your premises liability, and the rent you stand to lose after a covered loss. Nine licensed states. Not tenant personal-property coverage. Not a commercial business package.

What a landlord policy is for

When you rent a house, duplex, or small apartment building, the occupancy is no longer “you live here.” The policy should say so. We shop landlord and dwelling-fire markets for residential rental owners — not for a storefront, a payroll, or a tenant’s sofa.

The dwelling

Building coverage for the rental structure if a covered peril damages it — fire, wind, and the other perils the issued form actually names or excludes.

Lost rental income

Fair rental value / loss of rents after a covered property loss takes a unit offline. Owners remember this after the kitchen fire, not before.

Landlord liability

Premises liability for injury or property-damage allegations that arise from your ownership of the rental — subject to the policy’s terms.

What this site does not quote

Clear product lines keep submissions honest and keep this site from competing with products it does not sell.

  • Not occupant personal propertyA tenant’s belongings are the tenant’s responsibility. We do not market that coverage here.
  • Not a commercial business packageGeneral liability, workers compensation, and businessowners policies for operating companies are a different appetite. This form is for the residential rental dwelling.
  • Not your own residenceIf you still live in the house, you likely need a homeowners conversation, not a landlord form — unless a rented ADU or similar split occupancy changes the file.

How a quote request works

  1. Tell us about the rentalAddress, unit count, desired effective date, and how to reach you. Comments can include the current insurer or recent claims.
  2. We shop landlord marketsIndependent placement for dwelling and landlord forms that match tenant occupancy.

Common questions

What is landlord insurance?

A landlord policy — sometimes a dwelling-fire form with landlord options — is written for a residential building you rent to someone else. It is built around the dwelling, the owner’s premises liability, and often the rent you lose after a covered property loss.

Is this the same as coverage for a tenant’s belongings?

No. This site is only for rental-property owners. A tenant’s furniture, electronics, and clothing belong on the occupant’s own personal policy. We do not market that product here.

Which states can request a quote?

Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, South Dakota, Arkansas, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Indiana. We do not take quote requests on this site for properties outside those licensed states.

Is a quote a binder?

No. A quote is not a binder. Coverage starts only when a carrier issues confirmation according to its rules and the issued policy forms.
